He was born in 1924 the son of Napoleon and Ivy Belec. Born in Canada, Jerome Belec, who's home was in Horndon on the Hill was a member of the wages department before he joined the R.A.F.

Jerome had a sister, Jeanne, born in 1923 and a brother, Roger, born in 1925, both of whom lived in the United States of America in later life.

He died on Thursday 6th April 1944.
