
He was the son of Victor and Nora Rompen and husband of Mary Patricia Rompen of Dowlais, Glamorgan.
Leonard Rompen came originally from Durham lived at Linford and was employed in the Rubber Factory, Department 301 for 18 months before joining the Army in December 1939. He was married at East Tilbury in 1942 in a double wedding with his sister. He was the first Bata casualty reported from the North African Campaign.
