He was the son of William John and Mary Hannah Pritchard of Kentish Town, London.

Prior to the war he worked as an Edge Setter in Department 421 of the Leather Factory at East Tilbury for 4 years.

He died in Action on Thursday 26th November 1942, aged 18.
